Last Sunday, I celebrated my birthday to the tune of “22” by my home girl (T-Swift), and thanks to my best friend-aka the best listener EVER-I was gifted this beautiful lipstick, after having lusted over it for months. The Salem Velvetine lipstick is a true chocolate brown hue with a slight rusted red undertone, otherwise known as liquid perfection.
I didn’t have any solid plans for the day, so this was the perfect outfit to look/feel good in without sacrificing comfort. I found this dress at Gap in their sleepwear section..so maybe it’s suppose to be a nightgown of some sort or just a tunic top (?) Either way, I purchased it to wear as a dress like this but have also paired it unbuttoned with jeans and a t-shirt.
Over sized shirt dresses like this can sometimes appear sloppy if not styled properly, so matching it with statement pieces like this fringe choker and jeweled cuff creates the perfect balance. The dress becomes more polished, the jewelry becomes slightly dressed down and you’re left with an outfit that can be adapted and worn almost anywhere.
Aside from wearing one of my favourite outfits ( as of right now), while eating pizza and watching The Grinch, it was amazing to spend time with some of my closest friends and I was once again reminded how lucky I am to have these individuals in my life. Big thanks to everyone who made this day (but really more like weekend) so special. x
