Weather in Toronto is still warm and sunny, but since we’re almost halfway into September, I’m convinced that Fall is here. Whenever the seasons change, a lot of people will go out and do a huge shopping haul but it’s not always financially responsible. Aside from money too, it really isn’t necessary which is why I wanted to do a small series of outfits to give tips on how to transition your Summer wardrobe into Fall. I kept everything pretty simple and you can substitute whatever you currently have in your closet. I tried to think of staple pieces that most people would have in some form too.
Today’s post features my beloved shirt dress which I’ve been wearing all Summer long. To transition this from a summertime dress into Fall, I love to pair it with leather jacket, classic ankle boots and some statement jewelry to give the whole look a “cool” factor. This dress was perfect on it’s own in the Summer since it’s light weight and looks great with sandals or heels, but when the cooler months come around, pairing it with a jacket can help keep you warm getting from point A to point B without sacrificing style. I love how these boots look paired with the outfit because it ties in the leather up top and keeps the whole look classic. Obviously, I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t add a necklace and/or bracelet so this is really just an obvious choice for me. Whether you were pairing this shirt dress with a vest, leather jacket or a cool printed bomber, it’s really just going to help elevate the whole look and keep you a little warmer too which never hurts.
