What started as July favourites, quickly turned into a compilation of products and jewelry pieces that I’ve been reaching for throughout the Summer (so far). My makeup routine and go-to products have switched slightly to accomodate my skin through the warmer and more humid months. I also thought I’d add in some accessories because I always get tons of questions about my jewelry and where it’s from! Let’s see how brief I can make this…
1. Shu Uemura – Fluid Lightbulb Foundation, Sephora or Holt Renfrew
I have a hard time committing to saying I love a foundation, but I’m falling pretty hard for this one. It has a great dewy finish, and I love how it covers my skin’s redness while still looking natural.
2. Becca – Shimmering Skin Perfector (moonstone), Sephora
Hands down my favourite highlight product to use all year round. My favourite places to apply this are cheekbones (obvs) and on my cupids bow.
3. Josie Maran – Argan Enlightenment Illuminator (not pictured), Sephora
This product has changed everything in my makeup routine, in the best way possible. Believe me when I say a little goes a long way. Mix this in with your foundation (or apply to skin before foundation) for a glow from within look.
4. MUFE – Aqua Brow (#25), Sephora
My ride or die brow product, so it’s no surprise to see it here on this list. Ask me how much I love it, I dare you.
5. SEPHORA COLLECTION – Pro Angled Liner Brush, Sephora
With every good set of brows, there’s the right tools that make it happen. This brush is a must have on the daily. Its soft bristles are great for days when you want a more “natural” look but it’s so fine that sharp and precise lines are a breeze.
6. MAC – Lipstick in Faux, Matte Royal & Stone, MAC
I say every lipstick colour I have is my favourite but I use the term pretty loosely since I find myself more lenient when it comes to my opinion on lippies (for the most part). These three colours have all been Summer favourites of mine and are in my makeup bag at all times. You never know when you’ll need all three..
7. Rosebud Perfume Co. – Rosebud Salve, Sephora
I keep the tin at home on my makeup table and use the tube to travel with. I’ve been using this product for a solid year now and never found myself wanting to switch to another brand. Its balmy but non-sticky texture smooths out my lips and is the perfect prep product to use before applying a lipstick.
9. Real Techniques Contour Brush, Walmart
I purchased this brush in a set a couple years back but hardly used it as I didn’t really jump on the contour band wagon. Recently though, I’ve discovered a new purpose for it and have been using it as a highlight brush. It’s tapered tip does a great job at precisely placing product on the face without making it look overwhelming.
10. Shu Umeura – Red:Juvenus Vitalizing Retexturizing Emultion, Holt Renfrew
I received this little sample when I purchased my foundation from Shu Uemura and I’m debating on going back to buy the full size bottle. This gel-like lotion glides over my skin so nicely without making my face greasy or oily and creates a smooth base for foundation.
11. Origins – Night-A-Mins Renewal Cream, Sephora
I picked up this mini tube while at Sepora with VIB points having no expectations, other than always hearing good things about the brand. Its thick and creamy formula feels so hydrating on my skin after a long day and has a slight citrus scent. When using this the night before, I wake up with skin that looks refreshed and radiant.
12. Urban Decay VICE 3 Palette, Sephora (Limited Edition)
I’ve had this palette for just over half a year and to this day still find myself constantly reaching for it. All of these shadows have great pigmentation and blend seamlessly. The neutral colours are perfect base colours for any eye look and I love using the bright and vibrant colours in the outers corners of my eyes occasionally for added drama.
13. Urban Decay – De-Slick Setting Spray, Sephora
I find myself switching between this and UD’s All Nighter spray. Both are favourites of mine and help my makeup stick that much longer which is great for hot and humid summer days. My favourite way to use this product is to spray my sponge before applying foundation and find that it helps that much more.
14. Bumble and Bumble – Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer, Sephora
I picked this up in an attempt to save my hair from constantly being damaged from using a curling iron and the occasional blow-dry. I’m not 100% if it’s actually helping my hair but I love the smell and it does a great job at smoothing out day old curls!
15. L’Oreal – Voluminious Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black, Walmart
The blackest of black mascaras I’ve ever used and its waterproof formula helps my eyelashes stay long and curled all day with no flaking.
16. MAC Liner in Cherry, MAC
I’ve been looking for the perfect red lip liner and don’t know how I didn’t discover this sooner. It has a blue-ish red hue which is the only type of bright red I typically like and I love how pigmented and non-drying this liner is.
17. Maybelline -Lip Studio Colour Blur, Shoppers Drug Mart
This was an impulse purchase while browsing through Shopper’s but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I love it. This colour matches my MAC Cherry liner perfectly and has a smooth creamy formula that’s almost mousse-like.
18. Aldo – Necklace, Earrings and Sunglasses, Aldo
My accessories are always on rotation so these are a very small selection of my favourites. Silver is an absolute must for me when it comes to jewelry and who doesn’t love a wicked pair of sunnies??
